What we're learning:
The pre-algebra class is currently working with equations and trying to solve for the variable. They started by doing one and two step problems and have moved on to multi-step problems. We are continuing to do these for a few days until the class demonstrates a full understanding. I am hoping to move on to equations involving fractions and decimals, and eventually to equations that have inequalities. As I grade homework, the most common error I see is adding and subtracting integers. The confusion happens when a negative appears. Because of this, I have created special assignments that give the students extra practice working with negatives.
